Every Tuesday with Saint Anthony of Padua
Dear Saint Anthony,
I salute you this day in recognition of your devotion to solitude,
prayer and acts of reparation.
You took the name Anthony,
after the first hermit of the desert,
when you joined the Franciscans.
You sought God's help in prayer and fasting in monastic quiet.
My duties in life seldom offer chances for solitude and quiet prayer.
Distractions are all around me.
Help me, nevertheless to cultivate interior silence even amid my daily work.
May I keep inner peace
and the recollection of God's presence always in my heart.
Please assist me to do so for love of Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
Pray for us, St. Anthony,
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen
